We still want to take care of as many families as we can, but this year there will be NO public shopping by volunteers, nor wrapping, nor delivery. This year parents will apply for assistance online at www.coinsforkids.net between October 19 and November 13, 2020. Applications will then be reviewed and are subject to denial depending on the standard requirements as always such as the limit on the number of times assistance can be granted. Also, proof of residence in the county will be required, as well as photo ID, birth certificates of the children, and recommendation letter. Once your application has been approved for processing, we will contact the families to review the documents required as always. Those interviews will be held between November 16-20. Once a family has been approved, then they will be assigned a time to shop for their own children. Shopping will take place (overseen by the CFK board) at the Washington Wal-Mart on Dec 15, 16, and 17. As the items are checked at the register, CFK will then pay for their toy and clothing selections up to the limit designated by the board. Hours for the shopping will be 5-8:30 pm. Further questions please email at info@coinsforkids.net
This year we are encouraging families and business to adopt children thru the website www.coinsforkids.net The site will be available for adoptions Nov 21- Dec 10.
(KONY) Coins for kids is a program which operates under the non-profit, fully licensed charitable organization (501c3) named KONY CHARITIES.
Coins for Kids exists to help provide Christmas for needy children in the local area who otherwise would go without presents at Christmas time. The program began in 1990.
In 2019 we registered 1493 children in 524 families. Some of these children were then adopted by other organizations and families (our largest adoption number ever!!) so the Coins for Kids organization actually shopped, wrapped, and delivered Christmas to 1027 children in 369 families!
Applications are then given to various charities that desire to provide Christmas gifts for children. Canyon Media will have the database for the names.
Only one application per family will be accepted. Intentional duplicate applications and/or intent to defraud the charity will cause elimination from the program.
The program is dependent solely upon charitable contributions; all contributions are tax deductible. Contributions can be made at or families adopted at Canyon Media offices.
