To get everyone in rock hunting shape we are kicking this year’s hunt off with 3 mini Summit Rocks worth up to $1000! On May 22nd, 23rd and 24th we will have a rock hunt each day to help get you in shape for this year’s Summit Rock hunt.
Get a jump on the first clue at the Summit Athletic Club. The first clue of the hunt will be posted each day at the Summit Athletic Club facility at 7:30am. All clues will be posted as they are released beginning at 8am on KONY’s Instagram. Mini-rock clues will be given every hour on Instagram and discussed on the radio until the rock is found.
Each of these mini rocks will be worth $500 or $1,000 if you are wearing the official 2024 Summit Rock T-shirt when you find the mini rock. Mini rocks will be found the same day. 3 mini Summit rocks in just 3 days.
Don’t worry, if you find one of the Mini Rocks you’re still eligible to find one of the up to $10,000 Summit rocks!
It’s time to Buy your Summit Rock t-shirt, only $15 at the Summit Athletic Club Sunset, River Road or Bluff Street locations! The t-shirt is a huge help to the game and also gets you into the Summit Athletic Club through the end of June.

99.9 KONY Country and the Summit Athletic Club present Find the Summit Rock. Starting Tuesday, May 28th listen to us, follow us on social media, or visit the Summit Athletic Club for clues and ideas on the location of the Summit Rock. Clues will be posted to the KONY Country’s Instagram beginning at 8am and discussed on air. The first person to find the rock will win $10,000 if they are wearing the official 2024 ‘Find the Summit Rock’ t-shirt. If you’re not wearing the 2024 t-shirt, you will win $5,000. Clues will also be available on KONY’s Instagram page.
WEEK 1
MAY 28 – MAY 31
Clue each day at 8am Tuesday—Friday until the Summit Rock is found. If you want a head start swing by the Summit Athletic Club to see the clue as early as 7:30am. Stop by the Summit Rock Kick Off Party on Tuesday the 28th from 5:00p – 9:00p to receive the second clue.
WEEK 2
JUNE 3 – JUNE 7
Clue each day at 8am Monday—Friday until the Summit Rock is found. If you want a head start swing by the Summit Athletic Club to see the clue as early as 7:30am.
WEEK 3
Saturday, June 15
NO CLUES UNTIL SATURDAY, JUNE 15. Clues begin at 8am live on 99.9 KONY Country with a new clue every hour 30 minutes! Keep checking our Instagram until the rock is found.
How it Works
Once the first rock is found, the contest starts all over again the following Monday with new clues on the location of the second rock. Once the second rock is found, the contest starts all over again with new clues on the location of the third rock beginning on Saturday, June 15th. Once the third is found, the contest is complete.

99.9 KONY Country and Summit Athletic Club realize this is a large sum of money and many of you will be looking for the rocks. So we ask you to please read the following rules carefully and have fun!
Summit Mini Rock Rules
May 22 – May 24
- Employees of Canyon Media and Summit Athletic Club, and their households, are not eligible to find the mini Summit/Kubex Rock.
- By finding a mini rock, you win $500. In order to win $1,000, you must be wearing a verified 2023 Summit Rock t-shirt when you find the rock (previous years’ shirts will not qualify you to win $1,000).
- If you are found cheating, you forfeit all winnings.
- If you find the rock, you must call 435-628-5000 immediately. You cannot leave the site and come back. You must prove possession to win. There can only be one (1) winner per rock. In the event of a dispute over who found the rock, all parties will be eliminated.
- By participating, you assume all liability. Canyon Media and Summit Athletic Club are not responsible for any injuries sustained while in pursuit of the Summit Rock.
- The Summit Rock is subject to verification. Any counterfeit attempt will disqualify you from any current or future contest participation.
- Must be 18 or older or have a parent or legal guardian with you when you find the rock.
- Current year mini rock winners and their households are not eligible for any other Summit Mini Rock contests, but are still eligible to participate in the Summit Rock contest for the $5,000/$10,000 rocks.
- Must present two (2) valid forms of ID to receive winnings.
- Winner is responsible for any applicable taxes.
- Winner must return the rock to redeem prize. The rock is property of Summit Athletic Club.
- Summit Athletic Club and Canyon Media reserve the right to use and distribute images, voice, and likeness of winners.
- If you break any law—i.e. trespassing, vandalism, littering, etc.—while in pursuit of the rock, you are automatically disqualified from all current & future promotions.
- Any destruction of property—including, but not limited to, landscaping, fencing, water features, vehicles—automatically disqualifies you from all current and future promotions.
- The Summit Rock will not be hidden within 50ft of any commercial building or residence.
- Purchasing a 2023 Summit Rock edition t-shirt is solely for membership to Summit Athletic Club for the month of June, 2023.
- By purchasing and/or winning a 2023 Summit Rock t-shirt, you qualify to win $1,000 if you find the rock while wearing the shirt. You also get the privilege of using Summit Athletic Club for the entire month of June, 2023, as long as you’re wearing the 2023 Summit Rock t-shirt.
