At Least 22 People Were Killed in a Terrorist Attack at an Ariana Grande Concert in the U.K.
At least 22 people were killed and more than 50 were injured, when a bomb went off outside an arena in Manchester, England, as people were leaving an ARIANA GRANDE concert. Police believe it was the work of a suicide bomber.
At least 22 people were killed and close to 60 were injured after an explosion last night at the Manchester Arena in England, right after an ARIANA GRANDE show.
It happened OUTSIDE the arena at around 10:30 P.M. local time, as people were filing out of the building. Police are investigating it as an ACT OF TERRORISM, and it appears to have been the work of a suicide bomber. No one has claimed responsibility yet.
British Prime Minister THERESA MAY called it, quote, “an appalling terrorist attack.” As of last night, there was no word from PRESIDENT TRUMP. But the Department of Homeland Security is closely monitoring the situation, and they say they have no information about a similar threat to a music venue in the U.S.
An 18-year-old man who was at the show told CNN, quote, “Ariana was off the stage, she’d finished her set. I looked around because I heard this big bang, people screaming and crying and flooded towards the stage.”
Another witness said, quote, “It was a really big explosion. Everybody started screaming and running. There were people on the floor . . . There was a lot of confusion.”
There’s no word on the identities of the victims yet, but obviously, there were a lot of young kids at the show.
Ariana wasn’t injured, but she Tweeted, quote, “Broken. From the bottom of my heart, I am so so sorry. I don’t have words.” And TMZ says she has suspended the rest of her tour for now. Her next show was supposed to be in London on Thursday.
On the plus side, there have been reports of locals opening their homes to people who need everything from a place to stay to just a cup of tea. They’ve also been helping reunite parents with their kids, and there may very well be plenty of people still looking for their children.
And taxis have been offering free rides to those in need.
