For Keith Urban, country music is about community.  While accepting the Country Radio Broadcasters’ Artist Humanitarian Award on Monday, Urban said, “when people fall on hard times, we help.”  He also shared a personal story from his childhood that he says was a pivotal point in how he approaches music and his life.  Urban explained that when he was nine-years-old, his parents joined a country music club in Brisbane.  They had been members for about a year when their house burned down and they lost everything.  Urban said, “Without hesitation, that country music club put on a fundraiser for us.  And it was so apparent to me that from the age of nine, this is what it’s all about.”
