I’d Much Rather Have Rain Or Snow……Than Wind!!

I went to Lake Powell over the weekend¬†with a¬†young adult outing that of course included plans to camp, ski, eat, and enjoy the beautiful sandy beaches and shore lines that the Lake has to offer…..that is until the wind came up and made it difficult to enjoy. I’d been to Powell many times and have seen the wind blow, which can create some pretty big swells in the bays. But I didn’t realize how miserable it could get on the shore. That fine sand on the beach becomes airborne with the wind and gets in your eyes, ears, nose, throat, teeth, cars, food, tents, everything! Anyway, we still had a good time and no one got hurt, which is amazing when you have over 70 people out in the water trying to make the best of it. What’s the old saying? A bad day on vacation still beats any good day at work……so the sandstorm didn’t totally ruin my day. But next time you head for the lake, check the weather forecast and you might want to rethink your plans if heavy wind is going to play a factor. Enjoy the summer, be safe, be smart, and stay away from work as much as you can!
