Here is my question…. Before I arrived in beautiful St. George, I knew nothing about the area. I loved the area. The views are amazing! I was told that I would be an outsider because I am Lutheran and not LDS. I was told that people who are LDS have issues with people who are not. (Don’t kill the messenger) Be honest, if you’re LDS and you meet people who are new to the area but are not LDS, do you have reservations?
I personally have enjoyed living in Southern Utah. The weather is awesome, the cities are clean and there is always something to do here. As for interaction with people in KONY COUNTRY…. It’s been great. For the most part. But you can go to any town in our great country and find idiots right? If I have an issue with someone is it because they are LDS? Not at all. I personally think some of the bad rap comes from people who project a bad image of the religion. Just like Catholics, Lutheran, Baptist, Jews and many others, we all have some bad apples. It’s those few people who reflect badly on the others. Again…. my opinion.
But I wonder, if you’re LDS…do you agree with me? Do you see new people to the area as welcomed members of the community regardless of religion?
